What Do I Have Need Of?
We have everything we need for life and Godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) We all have had that feeling in our hearts and minds of, “If I had this thing”, “if I lived in this place”, “if we traveled here”, “if God did this thing for me”, you fill in the blank. We all have needs, wants and desires that God wants to fill in His timing but we have absolutely everything we need for this present moment in Him. It is comforting to know that there is nothing we have need of.
God desires that we would be content with what we have right now, that we would be present in our current situations and circumstances and give thanks to Him because He is always good. We all know that saying, “It’s always greener on the other side.”, and it is easy to think that our lives would be better if… but haven’t we been given everything? So let us take our minds off of us and the things we want and put them on Him and the things He has placed in front of us right now. So if there is anything you are waiting for today, I encourage you to keep believing for it but know that He is with you. Stop and know that He is with you, let His Presence and His nearness be your reality today. When what you want is consuming your mind I encourage you to stop and ask yourself, “What do I have need of?”
Recently God told me, “You need your current season to prepare you for what is ahead.”. So in our present circumstances, there are things we long for, things we want and these are not bad things but we may not receive those things in this current season. Maybe we are not ready for them, maybe if God gave us what we asked for right away, we wouldn’t have the character or the perseverance, or the love and compassion needed to steward what He had for us. So just know that the work He is doing in you is absolutely vital to your present and future and those around you. Don’t miss connecting with Him in this season. Don’t have your mind so much in the future that you miss those daily encounters and moments with Him.
He is always constant and never changing and He has promised to be with us. We have the promise of being with Him for eternity and that promise applies here and now. He is with us and we are with Him. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus so let us not let any need or want separate our hearts from being with Him today. He is right here with us today, ready to pour out Himself. He has given you everything you need to face today, to live unto Him, to walk with Him and share Him where you are. So let us cast the anxieties and pressures of what could be off and embrace what He is doing and Who He is.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” 1 Peter 1:3-4
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
Wow, we survived our family’s first long winter! Thank you Lord for helping us be present & intentional with the season we we’re in! What a gift!!! What a joy to see You in it, Lord! You make ALL things, all seasons SO beautiful! I praise You!!!❄️🌨
